Philadelphia Unlawful Police Chase Leaves Three Injured

 

A suspected car theft led to a serious crash that sent three people to the hospital on Tuesday morning in northwest Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police said an officer spotted a blue Kia Optima, believed to be stolen, around 3:00 a.m. near 15th Street and Rockland Street. The officer tried to stop the car, but the Kia sped away and hit a Buick that was traveling south on Old York Road, near the Fern Rock Transportation Center, in the 5700 block of North Broad. The Buick’s driver, a 34-year-old man, was injured and taken to the hospital. The Kia’s occupants, a 14-year-old boy who was driving and a 14-year-old girl who was a passenger, also suffered multiple injuries and were transported to Einstein Hospital by Philadelphia Fire Department crews. The police have not disclosed any more information, but they are still investigating the incident.
