The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the death of a 19-year-old woman from Venice who was involved in a terrible head-on crash on Thursday evening in Genoa.

The victim, identified as Ana Marsh of Scipio Center, was driving eastbound on Route 90 near Creek Road in the town of Genoa when a westbound vehicle crossed into her lane and hit her car head-on.

The impact of the collision was so severe that Ana Marsh had to be airlifted to Memorial Hospital, where she was treated for multiple life-threatening injuries. Unfortunately, despite the heroic efforts of the medical staff, Ana Marsh could not survive her injuries and passed away later that night.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the other vehicle has not been identified yet.
